Friday- the Trossachs trail

After tea last night, guess what we ended up in the oaktree. Colin continues his dutiful tour of the malts. Bruichladdich still top of the pops. Plan is a lazy day and leave youngsters to kip in. I nip to drymen for orange juice and other essentials, ok fruit pudding, blackpudding, potato scones, square sausage if you must know. I attempt to recreate audreys scottish brunch, not as good as the real mccoy my rendition but still a toothsome effort. After brunch we hit the road. On my agenda are lochs and valleys. So its off to the Trossachs. Passing thro aberfoyle we hit Loch Katrine. Main water source for Glasgow and a nice accesible gig in a municipal utilitarian sort of way. Nice caff with v.nice apple and blackcurrant danish. Giftshop (kerching). Suckered again. Then its on the road through Brig o' Turk past loch venachar to Callander. A quaint town with a big Rob Roy thang. I experience a nice ice cream with ally. I go for malteser and raspberry ripple she opts for the more local tablet and lime stuff (though need to check). Then its home via the cutely named port of menteith. On arrival at home check in with nanna who had her cataract done today. Pleased it has all gone well and mary staying tonight. Get chiled for a kip but not to be.
