Saturday night.

So the ferry doesn't get any better and we dock about a half hour late. Off the boat and its follow toutes directions out of the town. Quickly out of Le Havre we encount the spectacular Pont du Normandie bridging the Seine, well worth 5€ of anyones dosh. Then on to motorway 1 quick stop for a pee and despite one small hold up at a toll booth we make excellent time. Arrive at St. Malo and find the place effortlessly. Monsieur is a kip in the garden and has no english and a nice madame also no English. Still we get by he knows enough to extricate tourist tax and a hefty deposit. His wife shows us the rudiments and then he wanders off to a natter with a french bloke turns out its for sale. Business concluded we head off to the intermarche we spotted on the way in. Its suprisingly near but shut. Hey ho plan b - we wander to St. Malo - intra muros, which is the best bit. We park with ease and attempt to undertand the instructions - ha. Off into the walled town and the wow factor hits us immediatly. In fact it keeps us warm for a while. We are not dressed appropriately, though there is a brisk wind. We take a pavement drink at Charlies bar in the vegetable market place square. I sample and cidre from val du rance brand - nice. Colin secures some muscadet from a fishmongers. We wander some more. Tea is in a nice caff gaff which has a mix of frenchies and locals. We sit between some italians and some people of unknown origin. Our meals were excellent 4 of us opting for moules marineres frites and crepe. Hannah went for a cheese and mushroom gallette. She helped me out by eating my pancake. I had precided mine with a bol of artisan cidre which was ruffer than the rance. I snuck a glass out of the bottle of muscadet. Top stuff back home and its back home for cards.
